Our services in detail
Creation of process and tension diagrams
- Representation of the Coil Processing Line using symbols, focusing on the (metal) strip and the (Coil Processing Line) process.
- Physically and process-technically accurate representation of the Coil Processing Line’s functions.
- Depiction of all drives relevant to strip tension, including their design data, initially based on requirements from the process and the mechanical system.
- Specification of strip tensions and strip tension ranges (absolute and specific) for various sections of the lines, with the option to calculate the strip tensions at any point along the lines.
- Adjustment of the process or tension diagram following the final design of the drives (motors) in order to be able to display the belt tensions that can actually be achieved.
Carrying out analyses of Coil Processing Lines
- Determination of the process-related limitations of the Coil Processing Line
- Identification of product ranges that can be produced flawlessly or can no longer be produced flawlessly
- Identification of areas where flawless production is possible, and analysis of weak points such as exceeding the coefficient of friction on S-rollers and drive units, as well as motor overload
Optimisation of continuous and discontinuous Coil Processing Lines
- Examples of continuous Coil Processing Lines include annealing lines (CAL), pickling lines (CPL), paint lines (CCL) and coating lines (CGL).
- Examples of discontinuous Coil Processing Lines include Stretch-Bend-Leveling Lines, Slitting Lines, Cut-to-Length Lines and coiling lines.
- Recommendations for optimising Coil Processing Lines based on analyses of all (sub-)processes.
- Taking into account mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and automation technology.
Targeted analysis and optimisation of coil changes
- Analysis of processes using the iba-Analyzer.
- Optimisation of step sequences to reduce coil changeover times.
Analysis of strip run-out and flatness in Coil Processing Lines
- Analysis of the strip run.
- Identification of measures to improve the strip run and the flatness of the strip.
Determining optimum operating points / setpoints / operating conditions for Coil Processing Lines
- Under the given conditions (without carrying out any mechanical or electrical modifications), the optimum operating points / setpoints / operating states for the entire plant are determined.
Analyses of stretch bending leveling lines and Leveling Machines
- Identification of product ranges that can be manufactured without issue or that can no longer be manufactured without issue.
- Recommendations for necessary changes to mechanical, electrical and/or automation systems in the event of changes to the product range.
Production and productivity calculations
- Analysis of the impact of changes to mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, automation technology and processes, etc., on production volume (t/a).
- Economic assessments for each investment, including cost-benefit analyses and expected increases in production for a defined product mix.
- Examples: What is the impact of faster coil changes? What is the impact of higher process speeds? What is the impact of increased storage capacities in a continuous production line?
- Production calculations and productivity calculations can be carried out for all types of Coil Processing Lines, e.g. pickling lines, galvanising lines, Konti lines and discontinuous Coil Processing Lines.
Advice on problems with Coil Processing Lines
- Comprehensive consultancy on mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical engineering, automation technology and process engineering.
Modernisation of drive technology
- Development of concepts for the modernisation of drive technology, taking technical and economic factors into account.
Preparation of written studies
- Preparation of detailed written reports for more comprehensive analyses.
- Presentation of analyses and findings, and formulation of recommendations.
